We believe every couple deserves to have a special wedding ceremony, regardless of budget or time constraints. Short & Sweet rituals, available only for our Simply Married clients, are wedding rituals that lend well to elopement or courthouse-style ceremonies. We have adapted these rituals to make them just a bit shorter than in a traditional wedding ceremony, but we think they're just as sweet!
Circling ceremonies adapt very well to smaller weddings; a beautifully simple symbol of community and support. This ceremony may be performed a variety of ways depending upon your wishes, guest count, etc. A Family Circling, in which the couple & their children form a circle while repeating family vows, is especially meaningful.
Your rings will be placed in a special pouch or box & passed around; guests are asked to say a silent blessing, wish or prayer for the couple while the ceremony takes place. This is a lovely way to include guests & allow them to participate in the ceremony. We will provide a small ring bag with this service.
Originally an engagement ritual, Handfasting has Celtic roots and symbolizes unity. It is the physical act of "tying the knot". The ritual involves a couple's hands being tied together with cords, a piece(s) of cloth, or ribbons. This ritual lends well to including children, as well. We have ribbons couples may choose from with this service.
Present roses to special loved ones- mothers, grandparents, children- as a way of showing appreciation for their support. Alternatively, the give the roses to one another as a first gift in your marriage. This could be the start of a lovely tradition of a Rose for every Anniversary. We will provide two complimentary Roses with this service.
Provides an opportunity for guests to participate in the ceremony by giving their verbal support. A beautiful and fun way to include guests, we'll incorporate their blessings & words of support into your ceremony.
The officiant or a special guest may read a poem, an excerpt from a poem or book, a Bible passage, etc.
We love to help your children be a part of your special day! Giving each child a special gift (jewelry, pin, coin, a heartfelt hug, etc.) is an especially sweet ritual. You could also make special vows as parents. There are many other ways we can incorporate them in your Simply Married ceremony. The Rose/Flower ceremony, a Family Circle and Handfastings all make great Short & Sweet options.
